What are your hours for candlemaking?
We are open Sundays from 11am-4pm and Tuesday through Saturday, we are open from 11am-7pm! Daily workshops are available to book or walk-in anytime we’re open.
We are open to the public during our daily candlemaking workshops, so there may be other shoppers in our store while you’re making candles. Interested in booking a private experience and get our whole space to yourself? Email us at sablecandleco@gmail.com.
Are reservations needed?
Walk-ins are welcome for groups under 8 people, as long as we have a table available in our studio! We suggest you make a reservation to ensure you get a table!
If you have a large group of 8-20 people, please email sablecandleco@gmail.com to coordinate your party.
How long does it take to make candles?
A reservation for our daily workshops is 45 minutes. We do need to stick to the allotted time, due to other reservations. If you are interested in a longer time slot, please email us at sablecandleco@gmail.com. Booking fees may apply.
Your candle will take 3-5 hours to set at our studio. This is a great time to go explore the Wealthy Street shopping district- go grab a meal, coffee, or a drink and swing by after to pick up your candle creation! For workshops booked after 3pm- candles are typically ready the next day (we are closed on Mondays).
How much does it cost?
Our vessel shelf offers candle containers ranging from $30-$60 each. This cost includes all materials and instruction.
If you bring in your own container, pricing starts at $24 each and increases based on the size of the jar. This usually makes average sized containers around $30-$50 each.
If you want to measure your own container at home, watch this video to see how!
Can I bring my own container?
Yes! Any candle safe container (glass, ceramic, etc) like canning jars, ceramic projects, or other candle containers such as tins are a great option. Some container finding tips include containers with flat bottoms (for wick placement), and thick walls. Please note that containers must be over 5oz to ensure a proper burn!
What is the wax used?
We use 100% natural soy wax to make all of our candles. This wax is made from USA grown soy beans- learn more about soy wax on our blog.
What type of fragrance is used?
We use pure therapeutic grade essential oils, and all natural clean burning fragrance oils that are toxin free.
What type of wicks are used?
We use wooden wicks in our candles. Our wicks are made of cherry wood. There are many benefits to wooden wicks, which include: a clean burn, long lasting, a wider fragrance throw and they have a lovely crackling ambiance. Read more about why we use wood wicks on our blog.
Can I bring drinks and food?
Drinks and food are only allowed during our private candlemaking workshops, which are booked outside of our open hours. Learn more about our private workshops here.
Where do I park?
Street parking is available. Please note it is pay-to-park via mobile app on Wealthy Street Monday through Friday, up until 7pm. After 7pm and on Saturdays and Sundays, street parking is free! There is also free parking on James Avenue, the cross street near our shop.

Yes! This is a great activity for kids who can generally sit and keep an attention span of 10-15 minutes, and follow your direction through basic steps. This is such a great gift idea for mother’s day or father’s day! *** Please note that all minors need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
